This beach, on the Rio Grande, is just one of many that lie just off the Riverine Trail between Socorro's Otero St. Park and Bosque Park to the north. Although the trails to such beaches are not marked, obvious footpaths will lead those willing to explore a little to these sandy gems.

The plant life overhead is often so thick in the bosque that it's hard to see the sky at times. On many of the Riverine trails the conditions sometimes will create an almost stained glass effect of Sun, sky and foliage in the canopy above you as touching spiritually I feel as the man-made works of art in traditional places of worship.
